FORD FAIR SHOW REPORT - SILVERSTONE 2009
Ford Fair 2009 continued the tradition of being Europe’s Biggest and Best Ford Festival. The sun shone all day on the record breaking attendance of 17,695 blue oval enthusiasts.
The Fast Ford and Classic Ford magazine stands out did themselves as always with a collection of the finest and fastest Fords in Europe. The magazines organised the outstanding celebration of Anglia,’s Capri’s and Series 1 RS Turbo by inviting over 100 of these Ford legends to take part in the anniversary Cavalcade which took place around the famous Silverstone Circuit.
The Meguiars sponsored Concours saw over 100 of the finest examples of Ford Concours cars on display. The dedication and enthusiasm of these owners led to the success of S J Williams Capri taking home the overall standard class winner and M Barbers Escort Cosworth driving home with the overall modified class honour.

If finding out your 0-60 time’s your thing there was plenty of opportunity to get in line and bury the throttle on the Vi Performance and KW Automotive 0-60 sprint test. Those putting down the fastest times in the three classes, rwd (Andrew Harris – 3.75secs), fwd (Darren Hancox – 5.03secs) and 4x4 (Harvey Gibbs – 2.68secs). Each winner received a trophy and a Vi Monitor unit worth a staggering £350.00.
Of course the atmosphere and the success of the show is also down to the commitment of some of the finest Ford Clubs ever seen. With over 3,400 cars on display from a massive 139 clubs, it was great to see everyone enjoying this magnificent show.
"I would like to thank all of the Ford Fair team for your support and guidance in helping us participate with Ford Fair 2009. We are proud to have been sponsors of the event and to have exhibited at the show. Ford Fair was the first time that we took this route to market and I am happy to say it was an overall success. The complete package allowed us to promote the Rude Racing brand in various ways and also create sales on the day! Attendance at the show was better than we expected and our stand was busy all day. As a result, we are now planning to include future events, including Ford Fair 2010 of course, in our marketing mix for 2010!"
Iggy Quazi - Director - Rude Racing
Veterans of Ford Fair have become used to the high calibre of cars and features at the show. If you missed out or want to read more, then be sure to read the full show report in the October issue of Fast Ford, on sale 17th September.
On behalf of the whole Ford Fair team I would like to thank everyone who took part and attended this years record breaking show.
